Arnica Seeds
July 23, 2024Dyers Woad (or just Woad), is one of those plants with a multitude of uses. Fabulous as a pollinator plant with its nectar and pollen rich flowers, it is also widely used for the amazing indigo-blue dye that it can produce, making it an excellent plant for those who enjoy fabric and wool crafts. A fairly short-lived but hardy perennial or biennial, it produces a good clump of leaves in its first year, followed by vibrant yellow flowers in the second. The seedpods are also attractive, being quite fat and a deep bluish-plum colour. A wildflower native to Europe, it will grow in most soils and situations. Flowering size 1-1.6m tall, about 50-60cm wide. 9cm pot
