Hypericum perforatum, commonly known as St Johns wort, is a flowering plant in the family Hypericaceae. It is a perennial plant that grows up to one meter tall, with many yellow flowers that have clearly visible black glands around their edges.

St Johns wort is a herb that is sold as a natural health product in New Zealand at health food stores and pharmacies. It is used for the treatment of depression and other conditions such as anxiety.Also now for its anti-inflammatory properties.
