An attractive woodland plant with white fluffy sprays of flowers over the summer months. The dried leaves contain salicylates (similar to aspirin) and are taken as a tea to treat colds, respiratory problems and to reduce inflammation and joint pain. Also known as Meadwort, as its used to flavour mead. Put all that aside, its a great looking plant for shady, marshy areas where it can be left to naturalize.
