Kanuka is the larger tree, growing up to 10 m.
Its foliage is softer to the touch than Manuka. The kanuka flowers later than manuka, usually in starting in December, with the flowers emerging in bunches or groups.
The seed capsules are smaller than those of manuka.
Kanuka has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to help heal burns, bruises, and other wounds might be more effective than manuka. Studies have shown that it can also be an effective treatment for skin conditions including eczema, rosacea, and acne.
Our native plant season is closedand reopening in March 2024.
