How do we send to you?

We post plants on Mondays and Tuesdays only, this is so your plants arrive the same week they're sent.

We send plants with either NZ post or Aramax. Shipping is automatically calculated, however if you order a large grade tree (anything over 1.5 m tall) you may incur an additional charge. Trees under 1.5 m tall cost between $7.50 and $32 via NZ post.

Trees inter-island greater than 1.5 m tall usually cost between $50 and $60 to send and are sent via a freight forwarder. Unfortunatley due to increasing freight costs, it is often better to find a local supplier or allow us to trim the trees to 1.5 m tall. If you are ordering a large amount of trees, then please let us know as we can discount them to make it more affordable for inter island costs.

We allow pick up and are open by appointment or offer free delivery within Upper Hutt. Our seasonal edibles can often be found at Aston Norwood in Kaitoke. In the active growing seasons you can find us at Brewtown Farmers Market.

Please see our freight and shipping charges for a full list of prices.

We’re now selling seeds!

It has been a few years in the making but we are now selling seeds. Our seeds are all grown or collected by us from our block or nearby blocks (where natives and flowers are concerned).

For our Vegetables, we're fortunate to be able to isolate plants from each other to avoid the dreaded cross polination. However, although we do our best with any good open polinated seeds we cannot guarantee that the odd bee hasn't flown a bit too far and landed on a flower, but it is unlikely! All seeds are open polinated and grown from Heirloom or Heritage Sources.

Our Native seeds, like our plants are eco-sourced by us. Unless specified they're from Upper Hutt. If you are interested in how we collect our seeds and protocol around native seed collection, please get in touch.

We have an email catalogue released monthly. Or a good old fashioned stamp catalogue every season. Fill in your details below to join the email catalogue list.

Who are we?

We (Ryan and Hannah) began this Journey in 2017 after making a shift with one two year old from Auckland. We have built and grown our homestead during this time, now with three beautiful daughters, all growing up as free range children. Our homestead continues to grow and evolve. One thing we have learnt is the connections you make are as important as the act of homesteading itself, the support from others is vital, and often lifesaving. We look forward to adding more creations and sharing our journey in the blog with you.

We consider ourselves modern heritage homesteaders, learning on our journey some of the more heritage plants that are dwindling from memories and heritage skills. We have been on this journey five years, building skill sets as we go . We still have a washing machine and all the modern appliances but we try to make ecologically conscious decisions and have a heritage focus. Heritage traditions for us, can teach us to reconnect and tread lightly as we go.

We only ever wanted to produce and make goods for sale from homegrown produce and recycled sustainable products with an environmentally conscious mindset.
